Wilfred Ward, Age 20

Guardsman, 15889, 1st Battalion, Grenadier Guards.

Wilfred was the son of John and Jane Ellen Ward, but having been born in Dawley was actually living at 2 Marshalls Court, Church St, Tamworth, Staffs at the outbreak of war.

Again, there is some confusion to his date of death, Wilfred’s body was never found and his date of death is given as between the 15th - 18th May 1915. Wilfred’s name appears on the Le Touret Memorial panel 2.
